Heavenly Perspective

In the book of Habbakkuk, he is singing a song of praise on the power and sovereignty of God. He is singing to the Lord to provide a second exodus for his people. An exodus, not from Egypt but from Babylon. He says that God comes from Teman (the east) and is like the rising of the sun. He mentions that in the same way the sun rises above the earth and fills it with light so the Lords glory will cover His people. Habbakkuk speaks of how everything was in the beginning. He speaks of how the Lords glory covered the heavens and the earth was filled with His praise. He speaks on how God’s brightness was like the light and the mountains bowed in adoration before Him. He uses the word Selah as a sentence after every few verses. This word speaks of an invitation to pause and think calmly. Habbakkuk was saying that it is important to notice. Notice that the Lord is the same yesterday, today and forever. The Lords glory still shines above us. His power and light is still flashing from His hands. As the Lord provided his children with a second exodus, he will be faithful to lead us to our promised land, a place of abundance, prosperity and success in all that we do. Stop and pause. Remember who we serve. Remember how it was in the beginning. The Lord has risen and covers us as the sunlight covers the face of the earth. In the same way the earth was filled with praise back then, so should it be now. Sing not for what you see but because of who you know. Do not look to that which is seen but to that which is unseen. Set your mind on the things of the Spirit, knowing that the Lord made you to fulfill the call which He placed on you. Will He not provide for that which He has shown you in the secret place. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is faithful and you shall not be put to shame.
In 2 Corinthians 1:20, the word of God tells us that “all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” In Genesis 12:1-3, the Lord told Abraham, “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Galatians 3:29 says, “And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” That means that the Lord has good plans for us, to prosper us and give us a hope and a future. See your life through God’s perspective. Through faith and patience you will inherit every promise which the Lord has given you in Jesus name (Hebrews 6:12)!
